Group Discussion Threads

As the groups unfold, various discussion topics, or threads, evolve from your conversations. Both the moderator and group members are invited to initiate these discussion threads by starting new folders within the group space. Here are some examples of folder headings we’ve had in past Grief Groups.

“Firsts,” Special Dates, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, etc.

Grieving—How To

from Jack, A member of the Partner's Bereavement forum

I must say this to everyone who took care of their spouses, partners, loved ones. They were so lucky to have us.

I'm saying this because it has helped me when I've been told this.

Like others I've heard, I, too, took time off work. I was able to work a very flexible schedule starting about in April - doing things from home. Then, in September, I took a leave of absence, through Family/Medical Leave.

Our loved ones were fortunate to have us. Even if we didn't do EVERYTHING we could (and who could do EVERYTHING, right?), we did our best, and sometimes we were exhausted, both physically and emotionally, and we just couldn't give 100% all the time.

But we were there - and that was what counted. It helps me to remember and realize that - and I hope it helps all of you, too. Take care, Denise and everyone.
